45 Puppies That Fell Asleep in the Funniest Places

This article appeared in Pinkpossible and has been published here with permission.

These Dogs Will Sleep Everywhere But in Their Own Bed

Puppies are adorable — that’s a fact of life. It’s also a fact that these little daredevils have the incredible ability to fall asleep anywhere, from gardens to workstations. We have no idea how they could possibly be comfortable in these positions, but their awkward sleeping photos are bound to make anybody’s day. Here are some photos of dogs whose sleeping styles are just too funny!

A Nap With a Snack

Nobody can argue with the fact that a post-meal nap hits hard. After ensuring that you have a belly full of food, the best thing to do is to curl up on the couch and doze off.

A Nap With a Snack

This little puppy didn’t just curl up for a post-lunch nap, but he did it right in his food bowl! Either he ate just too many of those kibbles or it’s a new way of keeping the food safe.

Right at the Door

Well, one thing is for sure. Puppies are very creative, especially when it comes to places they can nap in. Just look at this dog, who has decided that a car door’s handle is the perfect place to catch a few ZZZs.

Right at the Door

It’s safe to say that nobody has thought of this amazing sleep positing in cars before this. Kudos to this pup for taking the car nap to end all car naps.

The Fantastic Four

A family that loves to do things together stays together. Like when they all wear matching sweaters for the Christmas photo, cuddle up on the couch to watch a movie, or play a board game with the whole family. But, there’s always that one odd member that likes to do things a little differently.

The Fantastic Four

In this merry band of four canine siblings, three are sleeping on their bellies, while one is completely defying the rules and sleeping on his back. This little puppy has clearly taken his first steps (or snoozes) to rebellion.

No Exercise Please

This little puppy had the right idea for the best way to pass out quickly. Just smell your shoe post-run, and you’ll be out like a light in no time.

No Exercise Please

However, we worry about this little boy’s nose. Even if he did fall asleep in his owner’s shoe by accident, he probably can’t smell the best thing in there. Maybe some fresh flowers are needed in order to save him.

Way Down We Go

This puppy actually found a pretty decent, albeit hard surface to take a nap on. It’s secluded, it’s covered, and it’s spacious. But, he didn’t count for his lack of keeping still while sleeping.

Way Down We Go

It looks like he rolled right out of the lower level of the table and onto the floor mid-nap. Thankfully, his makeshift bed wasn’t high enough for him to be hurt.

Playing Possum

There’s certain rigidity to this puppy’s sleeping style. With hands at his side and his back all stiff, he looks like he’s playing possum to give his owners a definite scare.

Playing Possum

He could also be just having a horizontal relaxation and meditation session after a rigorous exercise. At least he has a comfortable enough surface below him to give him some much-needed gentleness.

Just for a Minute

We’ve all had those moments in between our exercise routine where all we want is to lay down our heads right where we are and just give up on working out.

Just for a Minute

This puppy took it one step forward and took a power nap right in the middle of his walk, on the walking track itself. Now, this is what we call some serious dedication to lazing around.

A Yogi in the Making

Who said that only humans have the right to do some yoga to keep their mind and body flexible? It seems that even puppies want to get in on that action now.

A Yogi in the Making

This one is indulging in a classic pose in which you put your legs up. This allows the body to relax and lose tension. Hopefully, this little puppy also found some much-needed relaxation after this sleep yoga session.

Sleeping Beauty

The best time to play with a baby is when they’re young, adorable, and cushiony. Their chubbiness makes them an amazing playmate, and an adorable cuddle buddy. Just like this puppy here!

Sleeping Beauty

Counting all the rolls in his tummy is a treat unto itself. This photo is bound to make anybody smile! Just a few minutes looking at this squishy ball of cuteness and you can’t help but grin for the rest of the day.

Mid-Day Nap

Sometimes, you just need a power nap between meetings. We can’t help but be envious of this white ball of fur, who has found peace right at the work table!

Mid-Day Nap

Sleeping on the job is something everybody has wanted to do. Not to mention, having this puppy lying right there is a great mood-lifter for the person at this workstation.

A Little Too Much Party

This dog looks like he has had a little too much fun at a party, and has found the perfect corner to pass out! Not only is the ledge big enough for him to be comfortable, but the view on the other side is absolutely gorgeous.

A Little Too Much Party

Being tiny does come with its own perks. This snoozing puppy is a guest nobody would mind inviting to any of their parties. Whether asleep or awake, this sweetness is the life of the part!

Half On, Half Off

Sometimes, you’re almost at the end of your goal and you give up because you just can’t anymore. This dog sleeping half on the couch and half on the table looks like the poster boy for that moment.

Half On, Half Off

His posture and his positioning indicate that he was reaching for something on the table, and midway just decided that taking a nap is better than whatever he wanted to get.

A Visit to the Vet

Nobody likes going to the doctor. Not even cute little dogs. The treats that they get at the vet’s office aren’t enough to entice them into visiting the doctor whenever something is wrong.

A Visit to the Vet

This puppy here couldn’t stop his visit to the vet, but he sure found the perfect way to display his displeasure at being there. We bet even the vet thought his act was as adorable as we do.

Afternoon Nap

It seems that eating too much and passing out right in their food bowl is a recurring theme with puppies. Except this one didn’t even curl up all the way inside.

Afternoon Nap

Instead, he just seems to have dropped right where he was eating, at the edge of the bowl. Not to mention, the bowl seems to be a little too big for the puppy, and he definitely would have struggled to have his meal!

In the Palm of the Hand

Cute little dogs are just too good to be true. They can barely stand on their two feet, they slip all the time, and they have the ability to fit right into the palm of your hands, where they promptly fall asleep.

In the Palm of the Hand

This picture is perfectly timed! This little cutie is fast asleep in the hands of his owner, who saw one glimpse of this cutie and decided to adopt him from the litter.

Dancing With the Pigs

This photo was clicked by a photographer deep in the countryside. And it is proof that sometimes the cutest friendships are also the weirdest ones.

Dancing With the Pigs

The three little pigs (yes, we see the irony in this) seem to be fast friends with these two puppies. However, the funniest part of this photo was as a user commented — it is a photo of a dish! Bacon-wrapped hot dogs!

Flying High

An airplane is usually white, streamlined, and has wings coming out of its body. This puppy is also white, streamlined, and has his limbs spread out similar to that of an airplane!

Flying High

This position does not look comfortable from any angle, but the puppy seems to be enjoying his nap. Even his ears seem to have gotten the memo and are winged out just like a plane’s.

Upside-Down

The more you look at this video, the weirder it gets. But the biggest question remains — how did this little guy get himself into this position?

Upside-Down

This little puppy is all squished up between the couch, and when the owner found him in this extremely hilarious sleeping position, he quickly snapped a pic. A good guess would be that the puppy became a little too relaxed and slipped right into the crevice of the two cushions.

A Sleeping Emoji

One of the favorite emojis of people all around the world is the face with the tongue out. And it seems like we have ourselves the puppy equivalent of the absolutely adorable emoji.

A Sleeping Emoji

This puppy, who seems to have the most gorgeous coloring too, is far into the land of the dreams. We’re also guessing that his dreams must be of the boney variety because his tongue is hanging out in anticipation.

A Cozy Day

We just can’t decide who looks fluffier in this photo — the dog or the bed he seems to be sleeping on. Just one look at this little puppy is enough to make you want to curl up under a blanket and take a nap.

A Cozy Day

Just look at how Croissant (yes, that is his actual name) is sleeping with his legs tucked inside the bed for some much-needed coziness and heat.

A Basket Case

Human babies need rest, and end up sleeping most of the day. Just like humans, even little puppies have more rest than grown dogs and hold the amazing ability to sleep wherever they can.

A Basket Case

This little puppy found a perfectly well-shaped basket tub that can hold him in his entirety, while also giving him a little wiggle room to stretch. His little tongue and posture make him look like he’s a mascot for a little league team.

A Bed to Sleep on

In this photo, we can count not one or two but four puppies who didn’t make it all the way to the comfy bed to take their naps. Instead, the four furry animals have laid down their head right on the floor and dozed off.

A Bed to Sleep on

Only one of them has managed to get even halfway to the bed. But even he seems to have given up halfway there. Honestly, they’re so fluffy that they almost make the floor look cozy to us.

A Growing Dog

People grow all varieties of fruits and flowers in pots in their gardens. But, this person seems to have grown an entire dog from one seed! Jokes aside, this is probably one of the more unusual places for a dog to fall asleep.

A Growing Dog

Not to mention, the dog’s neck doesn’t look like it’ll be thanking him tomorrow when he wakes up. Hopefully, somebody will be there to give him a massage when he wakes from his slumber.

Shop ’till You Drop

There are very few people who love shopping. Most of them are just along for the ride, holding bags, checking phones, and if you’re a dad, falling asleep in corners. Just like this puppy did, only his place looks cute and fun to be in.

Shop ’till You Drop

Napping in a shopping cart and being wheeled around is a dream come true for a lot of people. Never has anybody had a more peaceful shopping experience.

One on Top of the Other

There is nothing cuter than a giant dog and a little dog cuddling together. Just look at this photo where this giant teddy bear of a dog is the bed for a puppy not even a quarter his size.

One on Top of the Other

We wonder if they’re related in any way, or just two pets learning to navigate their owners’ lives together. Either way, this photo is a total bro-fest of dog love!

A Puppy in the Pants

A person relieving themselves deserves three things — their phone to play games on, a nice and clean space, and some privacy. What they definitely don’t need is their girlfriend’s dog climbing into their pants while they are completing their morning rituals.

A Puppy in the Pants

This man’s girlfriend got a new puppy who promptly curled up in his pants and slept off while he was otherwise occupied. The only thing for him to do was to stare helplessly.

Bend It

Who says that the only people who can bend their bodies in all directions live in circuses? It turns out that some of these talented artists live right under our noses — our dogs!

Bend It

This dog has twisted his body so thoroughly that it is difficult to understand what he’s going for. Now he can proudly write in his bio — flexible dog, amateur contortionist. We can’t wait to see what other poses he’ll come up with.

A Guard Dog

If you’re looking for a guard dog, look no further! We’ve found the most ferocious and protective of them all — this little munchkin who has decided that his weight is enough to hold back all the thieves and intruders.

A Guard Dog

Hopefully, his prowess and danger will never have to be tested against the real world. We really hope that nobody attempts to open that door as he’s sleeping so peacefully. It definitely is a funny position.

Pumpkin Chunkin

This little doggy might be bite-sized, but his belly is something that you can’t help but want to rub. This absolutely adorable puppy looks like he’s having the best sleep of his life with his serene and calm expression.

Pumpkin Chunkin

We wonder what his dreams consist of. Whether they’re made of bones or just his owner’s shoes? Either way, it’s definitely something to chew on because happiness is best found in food.

A Reader

This puppy is the start of a new generation of readers — they’re cute, they come in all shapes and sizes, and they often fall asleep right in the middle of their reading!

A Reader

This is a position that a lot of us have found ourselves in over the years. Right in the middle of a long description, we often find ourselves watching that description play out in front of our eyes as we slip into sleep. Something similar seems to have happened with this puppy!

Caged Up

We all sprawl in our beds in different positions — some sleep on their stomach while some just decided hanging off the bed is the perfect way to sleep. This little doggo also utilized his sleeping area to try out a new position.

Caged Up

With his nose pressed to the bars and his mouth hanging half outside, he looks like he didn’t even string together a thought before deciding that this position was as good as any to just sleep in.

Open Wide

There is no doubt in the world that corgis are an adorable breed. These sweet little things have a way about them that is sure to melt even the coldest of hearts.

Open Wide

Just look at this puppy, who is sleeping without a care in the world. He’s spread out all over his owner’s lap, belaying a deep trust in his loving human parent. It’s hard to look at this picture without sighing in absolute wonder.

Too Big for the Bed

This dog’s name is Nande and once upon a time, sleeping below the coffee table was her favorite thing to do. However, she’s now too big for the space but it seems that it still remains her favorite place to laze in.

Too Big for the Bed

If her smashed-up face is any indication, this definitely isn’t a very comfortable position. But, we’ve all been guilty of holding on to childhood memorabilia, so Nande definitely gets a pass for this.

All Tied Up

Even after looking at this photo for a couple of minutes, it’s hard to decipher what exactly is going on here. The little legs, the paws, the torso — they all seem to be twisted up to form this adorable puppy.

All Tied Up

Nothing feels as good as finding the perfect position to sleep in. So what if this puppy’s position is a little weird? As long as it brings him happiness and sleep, all is well and good.

Dressed Up for a Night In

Who doesn’t like a cute set of pajamas to sleep in? But, no matter how amazing our pajama sets get, we doubt it’ll come close to beating this absolutely adorable ball of fur.

Dressed Up for a Night In

With his little black and white top, he looks like he’ll fit in right at a dog party as well as he does on this bed. It’s hard to look away from this cuteness.

He Is All In

This puppy has decided to live life on the edge. After all, who else but a daredevil would decide that this is a good position to sleep in? He really is a shoe-in!

He Is All In

Not only is he sleeping in his owner’s shoe, but he also has his entire face stuffed inside it. We can’t even begin to imagine what must be going on with this poor little pup’s nostril. Hopefully, somebody rescued him from his smelly bed.

A Leg Up

So many days just go by lazing on the couch with your feet kicked up as you surf the TV. On some of those days, that lazing turns into a full-blown nap. When you wake up from that deep nap, you may even forget what day it is.

A Leg Up

This little puppy looks to be in that exact zone — the sweet spot of sleep. A soft couch at the back, a leg up for comfort, and he’s set for the next two to three hours.

Too Many Cooks

Sometimes, you gotta get a little creative when you want to find a good place to sleep. When there are too many people in a house, you might have to sleep in unusual places just for the time being.

Too Many Cooks

This enclosure is a good example of the same, wherein this puppy decided that instead of haggling for a space on the grass, he would make his bed away from everybody — right in the food bowl.

Puppy Down

This is another example of a dog party that has gone too wild, or just of a dog that has no control of his own body while sleeping. We might never know the truth of it, but this certainly is a hilarious photo of a sleeping dog.

Puppy Down

While his start-off position looks to be a good one, it’s obvious he’s rolled over in his sleep and is now dangerously close to sliding all the way to the ground.

The Incredibles

Just like the Incredibles were a family of five taking the world by storm, this little group of five puppies looks ready to take the internet by storm.

The Incredibles

With all the five squished together on the bench for some much-needed sleep, they make the perfect picture of sibling bonding. The one near the bench’s start is probably the eldest, since he seems to be carrying the weight of his remaining siblings, even in sleep!

A Stand-Up Performance

There are certain people who can fall asleep anywhere, even while standing up. The list includes little kids, people traveling in metros, and security guards. But, none of them could do it as well as this dog!

A Stand-Up Performance

The puppy is sleeping standing up, and that in such an aesthetically pleasing manner. This puppy has made the impossible possible — he has made this frumpy look into a glamorous one.

Right Under the Master’s Chair

Some pups are so attached to their owners that they will follow them everywhere. Even while their humans are working, these adorable pets like to hang around in their general vicinity.

Right Under the Master’s Chair

Right Under the Master’s ChairSometimes, they like to take a nap while they wait for their owners to get done for the day. This puppy has decided that the best place to wait out his human’s workday is right next to him, under his chair. Smart move boy!

Tired of Waiting

Who likes to wait for their names to be called at the doctor? It’s tiresome, and more often than not, we find ourselves dozing off while we wait our turn.

Tired of Waiting

This puppy also followed the same technique, only his sleeping place is much, much better than ours. The dog, Beowulf, fell asleep on the desk at the vet’s while waiting for his appointment. The only question is who put him up there?

Self-Care Sunday

A self-care Sunday includes some TLC for your skin during the day, and for your eyes during the night. Having an eye mask can help your eyes relax and give you some much-needed peace.

Self-Care Sunday

This little puppy might not have had an eye mask, but he ensured that he went for the next best thing — Eeyore’s ears! Not only does the toy make a good eye mask, but it also seems to work great as a pillow.

Writing the Piece

This is a very dangerous place for a dog to sleep in. Not dangerous for the dog, but for their human! The puppy’s face is on the keyboard, pressing down on the keys and most probably ruining this person’s work.

Writing the Piece

But, he looks so happy and peaceful, and the owner did take this time out to take a snap, so probably the damage wasn’t all that bad.

40+ Pets Who Made Their Owners Laugh

Sometimes You Just Can’t Help But Laugh

One of the few things certain to put a smile on most people’s faces is pets. Whether it’s a fluffy four-legged pooch, a slinky feline, or something a little more exotic, goofy animals are a joy to witness. Animals brighten up our days, share our most special moments, and never fail to soften our hearts. There’s no wonder the internet is covered in pictures of pets — personally, we just can’t get enough. Check out our list of pictures of pets who made their owners laugh.

Slowly Sliding Off

Sometimes, pets get themselves into impossible-looking positions and just decide to stay there. This pup started off on the couch and then walked themselves off, leaving two legs sticking out behind, and two legs solidly on the ground.

Slowly Sliding Off

After waiting there for a couple of moments, this flexible pooch slowly slid off the couch. From this angle, it also looks like this dog has rested her head on the wooden coffee table. What a master of movement!

Knock Knock, I’m Here

Dogs are creatures of habit. They wake up at the same time every morning, they eat their meals at the same times each day, and they go for walks each evening. Structure and routine make dogs feel satisfied and comfortable, and it will soon seem like they’ve got their schedule memorized to a tee.

Knock Knock, I’m Here

And often, that’s because they do. This adorable dog must have spent several years going in and out of a door. Much to his surprise, after home renovations, the door is gone.

He’s Seeing Red

It’s always fun to present a dog with a new toy. Being enthusiastic creatures, dogs tend to get excited over most things. Because of this, it’s pretty uplifting to see how they’ll react to new textures, noises, and shapes. When this dog was given a plushie dinosaur toy, he snatched it up immediately.

He’s Seeing Red

As you can see from this ridiculous image, when the dog grabbed the toy by the stomach, the dinosaur’s red feet covered his eyes. Typical dog.

I Can’t Even Look at You

So far we’ve looked exclusively at dogs, but let’s not forget about their four-legged counterparts — cats. While some people wrongly think that cats are offish, boring, or cruel, they’re actually hilarious, affectionate, and full of personality.

I Can’t Even Look at You

Just take this dramatic feline as an example. When this kitty’s owner shooed him off their lap, he rested his furry face on the nearest pillow instead. While it looks like this cat is throwing a fit, we know he’s just keen to get back to sleep.

It Fits Perfectly

Dogs are goofy creatures, even if they look a little fierce sometimes. Even dogs that are trained for security or military purposes are sweethearts deep down, and all dogs love to run around and have fun. While playing fetch or running after a ball is great, some pups need to mix things up a little.

It Fits Perfectly

This striking black dog has a ball with a hole in it, and he likes to stick his lower jaw inside it. After all, why bother sprinting when you can dress up instead?

So Close, Yet So Far

Anyone with a cat knows that they don’t exactly understand how glass works. A cat may lounge by a window all day, and yet still try and jump up to catch a butterfly passing outside.

So Close, Yet So Far

Likewise, if you approach a cat through a pane of glass, they’re likely to smear themselves against it in the hope of a few scratches. That’s why it’s no surprise that this little kitty tried to get herself some milk by licking a glass bowl. Sadly, that’s just not how it works.

Snoopy, Is That You?

Comic strip character Snoopy is often associated with his doghouse, where he’s often seen sleeping on the roof. Interestingly, in earlier versions of the comic strip, Snoopy slept inside his house, but in 1958 he ventured to the roof for the first time.

Snoopy, Is That You?

After a while, sleeping on the roof became Snoopy’s norm. In a 1963 strip, Linus suggests that Snoopy sleep inside and everyone thinks it’s a ridiculous idea. Perhaps this pup uses her ears to lock onto the house just like the cartoon dog.

Did You Say ‘Walk?’

When dogs go for walks, it’s not just about stretching their legs. With super strong senses of smells, dogs experience everything in a much different way than humans do. With each new step is a trial of scents, and that’s not even mentioning the multiple noises, passing dogs, and new humans.

Did You Say ‘Walk?’

For a dog, going for a walk is an adventure, and every little thing they come across or see is exciting. For that reason, it’s no wonder this dog gives their owner puppy dog eyes when they need to go outside.

I Can’t Live Like This

When you’re around the same height as a trunk, couch, or table, it just makes sense to rest your head on top of one when you see it. This dog must have been tired because it decided to use a wooden trunk as a pillow rather than the dog bed itself.

I Can’t Live Like This

Perhaps this dog isn’t happy that its bed is covered in toys. If only some human would come and clear things up, then this pup could really get snoozing.

Just Perfect for Paws

For years, humans have mistakenly thought that the circular holes inside cars are for holding cups. Foolishly, humans have been putting receptacles of boiling liquid into these holes, and trying to drink from them while driving. Obviously, this is a major safety issue.

Just Perfect for Paws

As we’ve learned from this image, these circular car holes are actually for dog’s paws. With one paw in each hole, pups can cruise along as if they’re doing the driving.

I Really Need to Lie Down

Life isn’t easy for long-haired dogs, especially when they live in warm climates. Long hair requires all sorts of grooming and brushing, never mind the vigorous shampooing sessions. Of course, it’s all worth it, because long-haired dogs often look like superstars.

I Really Need to Lie Down

This adorable pup was out and about in Korea on a hot day and had to take a break by the fridge. Lying on the cold tiled floor, this dog was hoping to just get a minute to themselves.

Are We Missing a Part?

When you order your dog from the dog site, they come flat packed with a thick manual of instructions. As this post points out, failing to follow the instructions can lead to really weird looking dogs. With legs sticking in all directions and tails coming out of nowhere, a badly put together dog will not be pretty.

Are We Missing a Part?

Just kidding. We know that dogs don’t come in flat-pack boxes. We also know that some dogs like to flail their limbs in all directions. Strike a pose!

Please Remain Seated

Ordinarily, dogs sit by resting on their back legs, and placing their front legs on the ground. This is the standard “sit” position taught to all dogs from an early age. It’s strange then, that some dogs prefer to sit like humans.

Please Remain Seated

Perhaps they’re sick of being the odd dog out and just want to blend in with their human family. Whatever the reason, dogs that sit like humans always crack us up. It’s super cute and very goofy, and we have no complaints.

Soaking Up the Sun

Next up is a sun-loving Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, stretched out and soaking up the rays. These toy dogs are active and free-spirited, but also love cuddling up to their human family. Dogs can have pretty full schedules — with all of their walking, eating, and playing.

Soaking Up the Sun

We’re glad that Ms. Ella was able to find some time in her busy day to dedicate just to herself. After all, self-care is important, even for dogs.

No Guests at This Time

It’s a truth universally acknowledged that cats are big fans of cardboard boxes. In fact, when presented with the option between an expensive high-tech new toy and a cardboard box, a cat will almost always pick the box. Actually, it will always pick the box.

No Guests at This Time

For this reason, many cat owners enjoy making cardboard box houses for their kitties. Naturally, these houses are subject to being bitten, chewed, and scratched to shreds. Hooray for cats!

You’re Crushing Me

As well as being totally adorable and full of mischief, cats are also liquid. That’s right, you read that correctly — cats are liquid. What we mean is that cats can slink into all sorts of shapes, and squish themselves into impossible tiny spaces.

You’re Crushing Me

The orange cat in this picture has managed to tuck themselves away into a cozy cardboard box, but it was about to get even cozier. Cat number two entered the picture, calmly crushed their sibling, and posed angelically.

Everything Will Be Fine

This poor pup is in a position that makes it look absolutely terrified. While many dogs sleep curled up in a circle, lying on their side, or flopped on their back, this black pooch looks like he’s rocking back and forth after seeing a ghost.

Everything Will Be Fine

Perhaps the spirit of another household pet appeared before this dog and told it to watch its back. Somebody needs to give this poor creature a calming lavender chew toy, stat.

Potato-Shaped Pug

Did you know that pug dogs can be traced all the way back to ancient China? In fact, the flat-faced toy dogs were favored by Chinese Emperors, and were pets to members of the imperial court.

Potato-Shaped Pug

The small but muscly dogs are popular all over the world now, and feature in any number of internet memes and GIFs. This person’s fat little pug looks just like a potato. In the parlance of Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off,” “Potatoes gonna potate.”

Everyone Say ‘Cheese’

Excitingly, this is our first funny pet picture that includes both a dog and a cat. And let’s be honest — the only thing better than animal pictures are animal pictures featuring more than one species of animal. It’s double the cuteness!

Sometimes You Just Can’t Help But Laugh

In this hilarious snap, someone’s dog and cat look like they’re squished together to pose for a family photo. With his eager eyes, the dog is the older brother, and with her anguished expression, the cat is the younger sister.

Got One Going Spare?

One of the many wonderful things about having pets is catching them making strange-looking expressions. This might happen in person, from a particular angle, or when captured on camera. This dog’s strange expression makes him look almost like a person.

Got One Going Spare?

Those eyes are definitely saying, “Hello, I’ll take one of the snacks please.” Sadly for dogs, they aren’t humans, so we don’t just give them snacks when they give us funny faces. Rather, we take out our phones and photograph them.

Sorry, Did You Say Something?

Here’s another canine funny face, this time from a dog that’s pretty sure it heard the word “park.” This gorgeous white pooch was lying on top of their human but quickly flopped their head over when they thought they might get a trip outside.

Sorry, Did You Say Something?

Much like the last example, this dog’s humans made sure to snap a picture before giving in. We’re pretty sure this dog got to go outside. Really, who could say no to that face?

Mama’s Little Baby

Dog owners differ on whether it’s OK to hold your beloved pooch like a baby. While it’s second nature for many dog owners to cradle their fur baby in their arms, others think it encourages the dog to be spoiled. Clearly, this person has no issue with hugging their beautiful fluffy pup.

Mama’s Little Baby

This dog is only seven months old, so despite its larger size, it still wants to snuggle into its mama’s arms. Personally, we’re all in favor of cradling those babies all day long.

We’re Hangin’ Out

Hooray! Next up is a more unusual pet, and a departure from the dogs and cats we’ve seen so far. Many people become very bonded with their pet birds, and enjoy their intelligence and goofiness. This is a pet budgerigar, usually referred to as a budgie or parakeet.

We’re Hangin’ Out

Budgies are a kind of long-tailed parrot, and are actually the third most popular pet in the world, after cats and dogs. These cute birds can mimic human speech, making them extra exciting to have around the house.

My One True Love

Gorgeous goats are reared and kept all over the world, usually for their fur, meat, and milk. In total, there are over 300 different breeds of goats, and a whopping 924 million goats living in the world. Now, that’s a lot of goat.

My One True Love

This person managed to snap a picture of their goat looking up at them lovingly, complete with exposed goat gap teeth. Have you ever noticed that goats have rectangular pupils? It’s because they need to have a long line of peripheral vision.

Am I Doing It?

Cats are pretty fussy creatures. If their litter tray isn’t clean, they won’t use it. And, if their water is stale, they won’t drink it. If a cat’s water bowl has any type of debris or hair floating in it, chances are the cat won’t go anywhere near it.

Am I Doing It?

Because they prefer fresh water, many cats like to stick their heads under the faucet and drink directly from there. This cat was trying to do that but wedged her head underneath the fixture instead.

I’ll Never Let You Go

While cats are more restrained with their emotions, dogs don’t hold anything back at all. Dogs are at their happiest when they’re bounding, rolling, cavorting, and leaping. And if a dog likes something, you bet you’ll know about it.

I’ll Never Let You Go

This dog got their paws on their favorite ball, and lay in the grass holding it aloft. Full of love and adoration, this delighted doggo gazed at their ball, too beside themselves to even play with it. Now, that’s true love.

I’m Totally Invisible

We already know that dogs are dozy creatures, and here’s yet more proof. This long-snouted good pup decided to stick their nose out of the window, but forgot to include the rest of their head. Either that, or they’re involved in a pretty intense game of hide-and-seek.

I’m Totally Invisible

We like to imagine that this dog is trying to keep out of sight because it’s being hunted by a boisterous Chihuahua. If it stays extra still, surely no one will ever find it.

Traveling by Tote

Miraculously, we’re around halfway through our list of funny pets and we haven’t used the word “derp” yet. This caption correctly identifies this dog in a tote bag as a derp. With its protruding pink tongue and expressionless face, this pup looks completely ridiculous, by any standards.

Traveling by Tote

The actual word “derp” first came from an episode of South Park, but it’s now used to describe goofy facial expressions, especially on animals. Broadly, it means to be stupid or foolish.

If I Stay Here Long Enough

It can be really tough for dogs to sit politely when their human family is enjoying a meal. They know they aren’t allowed to jump up, and they know none of the food is for them, but still, they must sit there and smell everything. They have to watch as each human munches away on the delicious feast.

If I Stay Here Long Enough

This dog’s expression is full of longing and desire. With its nose literally pressed against the table, it’s desperately hoping for someone — anyone — to accidentally drop something.

Dopey Little Derps

And so suddenly we’re faced with two more dopey little derp faces. These two flat-faced doggos have the exact kind of blank, cartoon-like face that’s described as “derpy,” and they even have crooked little front teeth. We can’t cope with them!

Dopey Little Derps

As far as we can tell, these two dogs aren’t even putting on a strange expression. It genuinely looks like these pups just have absurd little faces, and walk around looking perplexed 24/7.

Where Am I Again?

Ah, the graceful cat — a majestic beast that flounces from place to place with nary an issue. Well, that’s the case for most cats. This confused-looking fellow looks like he’s just woken up from a very intense dream where he was manically cycling a bicycle down a hill. Yes, we know that cats can’t ride bicycles, but just go with it.

Where Am I Again?

This cat has its paws on display and its eyes stretched wide. To make it even better, its tail is folded along its front.

Giddy With Excitement

What we have here is a derpy dog face that’s also being thrown into amusing shapes by the weather. This pup is absolutely delighted to be bounding across the grass, and its mouth is hanging open in complete joy.

Giddy With Excitement

To fully round out this scene, we’d like you to imagine loads of falling confetti behind this pup, with the Kool & and The Gang song — “Celebrate” — playing in the background. If this was this dog’s last day on Earth, we’re pretty sure it would die happy.

Pooch or Puppet?

When looking at this next image, do you see a pup or a puppet? As this person rightly points out, their dog has a cute and fluffy face that almost makes it look like it’s not real. Thankfully it is, because we’d pick a pooch over a puppet any day.

Pooch or Puppet?

We’d love if this dog’s human could teach it a bunch of sophisticated tricks so that it looks like it actually is a puppet. From our perspective, that’s a very good use of time.

Lounging Long-Eared Lovely

Here we are with the first bunny of the list. Many people now keep their buns inside and let them hop around the house free-range. This bun must have gotten a little overheated because it found itself a vent that it could cool down beside.

Lounging Long-Eared Lovely

With its ears flopped and its paws by its side, this adorable bunny lies snoozing with its tongue sticking out. When it comes to the cutest things we’ve ever seen, this definitely makes the top 10.

Let’s Move Into Dog Pose

From the looks of things, this dog has also been poorly assembled from a flat-pack box. Either that, or this dog is a really advanced practitioner of canine yoga. While humans are stretching their limbs into cat’s pose or child’s pose, this dog is getting right in there and just tucking its parts wherever it can.

Let’s Move Into Dog Pose

We don’t know about you, but we’d definitely tune in each week to watch a dog teach us yoga. Bring on the dog-a! Get it?

Look at My Legs!

It’s not just dogs that like to contort themselves into strange positions. This cat has managed to nail a pretty great chicken impressive, though it’s mainly focused on the leg area. With their striped orange and white fur, and stretched out toes, this playful kitty’s legs really do look like they belong on a farmyard bird.

Look at My Legs!

Now, this cat just has to nail the rest of the impression, and it can go out there and masquerade as a hen.

Nap Time

We agree that this doesn’t look like the most comfortable position, but it seems to be working for this doggo. However, his facial expression looks a bit scared. We wonder if a quick belly rub or scratch behind the ears would help this pup have a more peaceful nap.

Nap Time

Whatever’s going on here, we hope the OP sought some advice and managed to help their fur baby sleep peacefully. He’s probably dreaming about chasing mailmen and scaring off cats right now!

New Student

This school had better watch out because there’s a new student in town! This doggo seems ready to learn, pumped up for some extracurricular activities, and may even make valedictorian!

New Student

He’ll certainly win the award of ‘cutest’ and ‘most popular’ come yearbook time. If we were the school principal, we’d let this pup stay for the rest of the school year. After all, if he doesn’t make it as a student, he can be the school’s mascot instead!

Bounding at the Beach

Taking a snap of a happy dog mid-run almost always results in a good picture. In this case, this doggo looks extremely engaged, and rather focused on running and splashing as best they can. While someone might look at this image and see the bared teeth of a once wild animal, we just see a playful pupper that’s about to get its human soaked in water.

Bounding at the Beach

We bet that just seconds after this picture was taken, this excited dog had a satisfying shake and soaked everyone.

Time to Turn In

Unlike humans, dogs aren’t bothered about how they look. Sure, dogs like to be clean, but they don’t care if they have a weird expression when they fall asleep, or if their nose looks big from a certain angle. When you’re a dog, all you have to do is stick your head back, spread your paws, and relax.

Time to Turn In

This dog must have had a hard day playing at the park. This is a seriously pooped pooch, so we’re glad it found time to rest its giant paws.

Don’t Call Me a Chicken!

Remember that cat that thought it was a chicken? Well, here we have a chicken that thinks it’s a cat. Someone should introduce these two! This particular chicken must spend time with some cats, because it’s trying to emulate their slinky, liquid-like behavior.

Don’t Call Me a Chicken!

Sadly for this feathered friend, chickens can’t compress their bodies the same way cats and some other animals can. This ambitious bird will have to work on its cat impression for a little longer.

I Just Need a Nap

Cat owners often worry that there’s something wrong with their pet because they sleep all day. Cats do sleep up to 16 hours a day and have no issues falling asleep in all sorts of random places.

I Just Need a Nap

Tired kitties might rest their eyes while leaning on someone’s hand, or they could even take a nap in their food bowl like this one. Apparently, it’s best to get pet cats into a routine where they eat, play, sleep and groom in a set order.

The Horror!

We highly doubt that this dog is actually scared for the sake of his plush toy buddy who is getting cleaned in the laundry machine. But let’s just pretend that this is what’s going on for a minute.

The Horror!

Toby is terrified that his best friend is trapped. He keeps going round in circles and seems to be drowning in a whirlpool full of water and bubbles. This explains the look of sheer terror on his face.

Hold On!

If you have seen the ’90s blockbuster Titanic, you are bound to get the reference that this person used in the following Snapchat message. Of course, they are alluding to that defining moment when Jack and Rose are hanging onto the raft.

Hold On!

On the other hand, maybe the cat is actually called Rose and her owner is simply telling her to never let go. At any rate, she looks like she’s terrified of the long drop below.

That’s Gonna Sting in the Morning

Cats are fairly picky when it comes to food, unlike their canine counterparts. With that said though, our furry friends have a tendency to try and wrap their teeth around virtually anything they can get their claws on. Take this cat, for example.

That’s Gonna Sting in the Morning

This white ball of fur thought they would try their luck against this cactus that was lying around the home. This photo was taken at the defining moment when some of the pricks drove into the cat’s gums. Ouch!

Already White

Here is another classic incident where someone’s pet was doing something that simply made them chuckle. Let’s face it, animals aren’t so clued up when a surface has been recently painted. They can’t read signs like this one.

Already White

As a result, this cat just lay down on the pillar like they usually would. Little did they realize though that it has recently been covered in a new coat of white paint. At least their belly is already white.

It’s a Trap!

So many of our favorite pets will try and stick their noses into the tightest of holes, simply to see if there is maybe some food at the end of the tunnel. That’s exactly what this ferret tried to do. It was too late though before they realized that it was a pretty small tunnel.

It’s a Trap!

As a matter of fact, it was simply a toilet paper roll and as you can see, they had a tough time trying to get out.

Presents Time

Hey, even pets deserve to receive some presents when Christmas comes around. The owner of these wolves was keen to treat them during the festive season and even wrapped their gifts with some classic Christmas-themed wrapping paper.

Presents Time

As you can see, the wolves had no problem opening up their presents. We want to know what is in the boxes though… Maybe it’s a couple of steaks? Or maybe it’s some canine toys that they’ll be able to sink their teeth into.

She Nose What’s Up

Truth be told, the smaller the object is, the more likely a cat will try to play with it. Whether or not this tabby was interested in eating this tiny reptile, it seems like they were planning on playing with it, one way or another.

She Nose What’s Up

But you can imagine how surprised they were when the little lizard chomped on its nose and refused to let go. This is one of those scenarios where we wonder what happened next.

Get Me Out!

Heck, even birds get stuck every once in a while. It’s not just mammals and reptiles that stick their heads where they don’t belong and need some human assistance to set them free. This beautiful little bird seemed to get stuck in a toilet roll.

Get Me Out!

It looks though like he isn’t too uncomfortable. This is largely in part to the cushiony toilet paper surrounding the roll. We are sure that he’ll be flying out of there in no time.

I Need to Hit the Gym

Sometimes, it’s not that the hole an animal is trapped in is too small, it’s the fact that the animal is simply too chubby to fit in! It looks like this hamster bit off more than he could chew.

I Need to Hit the Gym

In what appears to be some kind of food tray, the hamster was distracted by the hole and thought that maybe this was where the rest of his food was. We just hope that he wasn’t too distressed while crying for his owner.

Having a Whale of a Time

Don’t you just love it when the perfect photo is taken and it wasn’t even intentional? That is exactly what happened when this dog was playing around on a dock somewhere.

Having a Whale of a Time

It almost looks as if the pooch was reenacting the classic scene from the movie Free Willy, which is clearly what the sculpture in the background is a reference to. Not only is he doing the same movement as the whale, but he has the same colors.

The Contortionist Cat

This little kitty would make a great assistant for the practitioner of dog yoga we’ve met already. Considering yoga already has a pose called “cat pose,” it should be no surprise that furry felines like to stick their legs in lots of different directions.

The Contortionist Cat

Cats normally throw their legs around when they’re grooming themselves. This tabby cat likes to chew on his own ankles, munching away at the area just above his white socks. You do you, Oliver!

Show Us Your Teeth

Just look at the absurd face of this little dog. With its neck cranked up like this, this picture looks just like a grinning selfie of a human. Did you know that many dog experts and vets now recommend brushing your dog’s teeth?

Show Us Your Teeth

It might sound weird, but it helps avoid a range of illnesses and conditions that might cause your pup pain or irritation. To clean dog teeth, you can use a special canine toothbrush, or treat puppers to a tooth-cleaning chew toy.

The Proudest Polar Bear

At first glance, this picture of a very happy dog looks just like a snap of a polar bear. With its big black nose, wide grin, and closed eyes, this canine could double as a bear any day. This very happy boy was excited to be on a boat ride.

The Proudest Polar Bear

Think about it — so much water, so many smells, and the opportunity to see some other animals. Dogs make particularly good pets because they can be taken almost anywhere.

Sploot and Smile, Ladies

When a dog lies on its stomach with its back legs lying behind them rather than tucked underneath them, that’s referred to as “splooting.” This smiley little pup is having a great time splooting in the grass, and isn’t afraid to show it.

Sploot and Smile, Ladies

Some dogs are more likely to sploot than others, especially if they have smaller or more flexible legs. For some dogs (and cats), splooting gives an all-over body stretch, and for others, it cools down their body temperature.

Look to the Camera

Finally, we close our list of funny pet pictures with this goofy puppy smile. We sincerely hope that this pup’s humans have trained it to smile on command, because otherwise, that’s a lost opportunity. This soft, sweet pup looks truly pleased with itself, and even has the kind eyes of a happy and gentle dog.

Look to the Camera

Dogs actually show their happiness in other ways, such as wagging their tails. When some dogs make a toothy grin, they’re actually trying to show submission to their owners. What clever pups!
